I love, love, love pesto! So I was thrilled when my garden produced a ton of basil!
Homemade pesto is so easy to make and with minimal ingredients you can whip up a batch in just a few minutes.
Keep a jar in the fridge to add to quick and easy dinners. You can add it to just about anything! Some pesto ideas for use are instead of traditional pizza sauce use pesto, add to cooked tortellini or pasta, serve over shrimp or chicken, or add to a grilled cheese sandwich!

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups basil leaves
- 3 cloves of garlic, peeled
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1/3 cup olive oil
Instructions
- Add basil, garlic, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and lemon to a food processor. With the motor running, stream in the olive oil until smooth. May need to add more oil olive to achieve a thinner pesto.
- Store in an air tight container for up to a week.
