These are seriously the easiest and creamiest mashed potatoes I have ever made! And with Thanksgiving right around the corner I thought it was the perfect recipe to share.
Bonus, making the potatoes in the crock-pot frees up space on the already busy stove top AND it’s super easy to keep them warm till you are ready to serve. So when you wake up early to throw the turkey in the oven, toss the tators in the crock-pot and you are good to go!
I used russet potatoes, but I think any potato would work. I also left the skins on which is completely optional. I added sour cream and but you could definitely add some cheese, green onions, or fresh chopped parsley. Really anything you like on your mashed potatoes.

Ingredients
- 5 pounds potatoes, chopped in 1-2 inch pieces, I used Russets and left the skin on
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 4 cloves of garlic, peeled
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- In a large crock-pot add potatoes, milk, broth, and garlic. Cover and cook 4-5 hours on high or 7-8 hours on low.
- When potatoes are soft mash with a masher or use an electric mixer to desired consistency.
- Add sour cream, butter, salt, and pepper.
