I recently made these Cheddar Biscuits with a yummy Chicken Pot Pie Soup and I completely forgot to post the recipe. I swear this move is making me lose my mind. I am so excited to unpack and get organized!
Cheddar biscuits make a great addition to any soup or chili.
They are also a great alternative to store bought biscuits, which are loaded with all kinds of ingredients that you should not be eating.
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into pea size
- 1 cup of milk of choice
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 egg in a small bowl, whisked
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder and butter with a fork. Try to break up butter into crumbles.
- Add milk, parsley, cheddar cheese and mix until dough forms. Knead the dough until combined.
- On a counter top or cutting board roll out dough to about 3/4 of an inch. Cut with biscuit cutter or the top of a drinking glass. Place on baking sheet and brush with whisked egg.
- Bake for about 12 minutes or until fluffy and lightly browned.
Enjoy!
